Scientists warn about ‘powerful’ solar flare activity that may affect radio communication

Russian scientists have observed three solar flares on the Sun that can affect short-wave radio communication on Earth. Scientists predict X-class flares and proton flares are on the way, which could worsen communication conditions. One of the solar flares observed by scientists lasted 14 minutes that disrupted radio communication. In 2022, a geomagnetic storm triggered by solar radiation damaged 40 newly-launched SpaceX satellites.
