Nokia Apple renew 2017 5G licence agreement

Nokia has announced that it has signed a new long-term patent licence agreement with Apple. The deal replaces the current licence agreement signed back in May 2017 and which is due to expire at the end of 2023.Nokia said that it will receive payments from Apple for a multi-year period and expects to recognize the revenue related to this new agreement starting in January 2024. It added that the revenue expected is consistent with the company's long-term outlook disclosed in the first quarter. Reports suggest that Apple made an up-front cash payment to Nokia and also received other payments from Apple over the life of the agreement.
