How Apple AirTag may become an ‘attractive’ tool for government agencies

The United States Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) reportedly used an Apple AirTag to track down a pill press machine that had been intercepted by border agents. Placing the AirTag inside the machine allowed the DEA to track its movements and uncover potential illegal activity. It's unclear why the DEA chose an AirTag over other GPS devices, but it's been suggested this may be due to issues with currently available devices.
